Promotion Board Questions

When you are ready for your promotion board, please be ready to answer these questions, based on the promotion sought.

Do not forget to email the Deputy Commander for Cadets and Squadron Commander.

 

PHASE I CADETS

Maj. Gen. John F. Curry (C/Amn)

  • Enter Board Correctly.

  • Brief Uniform Inspection.

  • Recite the Cadet Oath correctly.  (You only get two (2) attempts.)

  • Recite information about Maj. Gen. John F. Curry correctly.

  • Identify cadet grade insignia from C/AB to C/SSG.

  • Identify your Element Leader (if applicable) and Flight Sergeant (if applicable).

    • If neither are applicable, identify the acting Cadet Commander.

  • One question from Learn-to-Lead.

  • Explain why you joined Civil Air Patrol.

  • Recite your CAPID.

  • Know at least one (1) current event: local, state, national, or international.

  • Exit board correctly.

General of the Air Force Hap Arnold (C/A1C)

  • Enter board correctly.

  • Brief Uniform Inspection.

  • Sit at Attention until to Sit At Ease.

  • Recite the Cadet Oath.

  • Recite Information about General of the Air Force Hap Arnold correctly, more than what is listed on Cadet Super Chart,

  • Identify C/AB through C/MSgt,

  • Identify Cadet Chain of Commander through Flight Commander (or highest position as applicable),

  • Two questions from Aerospace Education and Learn-to-Lead.

  • Recite the Squadron's charter number (ANSWER: SER - FL - 444)

  • Recite CAPID

  • Know at least one (1) current event: local, state, national, or international.

  • Exit board correctly.

Col. Mary Feik (C/SrA)

  • Enter board correctly.

  • Brief Uniform Inspection.

  • Sit at Attention until to Sit At Ease.

  • Recite the Cadet Oath.

  • Recite Information about Col. Mary Feik correctly, more than what is listed on Cadet Super Chart,

  • Identify C/AB through C/1st Lt,

  • Identify Cadet Chain of Commander through Flight Commander and First Sergeant (or highest position as applicable),

  • Three questions from Aerospace Education and Learn-to-Lead.

  • Recite the Squadron's charter number, (ANSWER: SER - FL - 444)

  • Recite Civil Air Patrol's birthday,  (ANSWER: 1 December 1941)

  • Recite CAPID,

  • Recite at least two CAP Core Values,

  • Know at least one (1) current event for each: local, state, national, and international,

  • Exit board correctly.

Wright Brothers Milestone Board (C/SSgt)

  • Enter board correctly.

  • Brief Uniform Inspection.

  • Sit at Attention until to Sit At Ease.

  • Recite the Cadet Oath.

  • Recite Information about the Wright Brothers correctly, more than what is listed on Cadet Super Chart,

  • Identify C/AB through C/Maj,

  • Identify Cadet Chain of Commander through Flight Commander and First Sergeant (or highest position as applicable),

  • Five questions from Aerospace Education and Learn-to-Lead.

  • Recite the Squadron's charter number, (ANSWER: SER - FL - 444)

  • Recite Civil Air Patrol's birthday,  (ANSWER: 1 December 1941)

  • Recite CAPID,

  • Recite CAP Core Values,

  • Identify what each uniform name is,

  • Identify an achievement ribbon earned,

  • Know at least one (1) current event for each: local, state, national, and international,

  • Exit board correctly.

Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker (C/TSgt)

  • Enter board correctly.

  • Brief Uniform Inspection.

  • Sit at Attention until to Sit At Ease.

  • Recite the Cadet Oath.

  • Recite Information about Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker correctly, more than what is listed on Cadet Super Chart,

  • Identify C/AB through C/Col,

  • Identify Cadet Chain of Commander through Cadet Commander (or highest position as applicable),

  • Five questions from Aerospace Education and Learn-to-Lead.

  • Recite the Squadron's charter number, (ANSWER: SER - FL - 444)

  • Recite Civil Air Patrol's birthday,  (ANSWER: 1 December 1941)

  • Recite CAPID,

  • Know at least one (1) current event for each: local, state, national, and international,

  • Identify Aerospace Education personnel, both senior and cadet,

  • Exit board correctly.

Charles A. Lindbergh (C/MSgt)

  • Enter board correctly.

  • Brief Uniform Inspection.

  • Sit at Attention until to Sit At Ease.

  • Recite the Cadet Oath.

  • Recite Information about Charles A. Lindbergh correctly, more than what is listed on Cadet Super Chart,

  • Identify C/AB through C/Col,

  • Identify Cadet Chain of Commander through Cadet Commander (or highest position as applicable),
